Fair: lacking the map, text is otherwise lightly toned and complete; Volume 1-front board mostly detached but holding firmly to a cord, spine thrashed, in parts, and portions perished; Volume 2: boards mostly detached but holding firmly to cords, spine perished. Written by John Henry Brown, a prominent Texas politician and military figure, this two volume work of Texas history was written from a deeply involved point of view.
