A brightly colored lapel pin for the Japanese Association of America. The J. A. A. Formed in 1900 by the coming together of 40 Japanese American associations in Arizona, California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Idaho, Utah and Colorado. According to one scholar, “the efforts and significance of the JAA is inextricably connected with the story of early Japanese immigration” and that it was the “key political organization of the Japanese immigrants in the United States. ” OCLC, Google and auction record searches pull up nothing similar.
