[boston]: 1950. Item #1840
3¼” x 5½”. Advertising postcard (unused) printed one side on thin card stock. Very good minus with moderate wear and creasing. According to Manfred Selchow's Ding! Ding! (Self published, 1998) , this card advertises the first appearance of Vic Dickenson with his own band, after his prior band in California broke up the year before. Rare, considering its use and length of time of distribution. This card was owned by Dickenson himself, and came to us as part of the estate of his niece, Victorita Thompson, who managed his affairs near the end of his life. It's a duplicate of a Dickenson archive that we will soon offer. This item is offered by Langdon Manor Books, LLC, antiquarian booksellers.
