11½” x 8¼”. Faux leather binder. 32 linen backed photographs attached to stubs, an additional six not linen backed laid in. Album Good: most of binder fasteners perished such that all photos are loose, with moderate spine wear; Linen backed photos generally near fine with the exception of one lightly stained; loose photos generally good to very good with some creasing. This album is a professional compilation of photos taken of the U. S. S. Yng-40, a Gate Tender for the US Navy, built by the James Russell Boiler Works Company of Boston. There are sixteen exterior shots that include the completed ship docked, and a view of it sailing away, different sections of the upper and main deck, as well as photos of the winch. Twenty-two interior shots show the pilot house, accommodations in staterooms and crew quarters, galley and mess hall, storage areas and equipment rooms, and the head.
