Marshfield, Oregon: [circa 1899]. Item #2553
Black and white photograph measuring 7½” x 9 1/8” on larger card mount. Very good photo with a few scuffs in upper right only affecting blank portion of sky; card with moderate edge wear and small chip to lower left corner. A pleasing image of a man driving a horse drawn cart that is empty by an interesting tower, probably at North 3rd Street and Park. We can date the photo to around 1899 as it came in a group of large Marshfield photos all dated 1898 or 1899. The location is based on a faint caption in pencil on the back, that we could only decipher by photographing and manipulating in a photo editor.
