[texas]: 1970s. Item #1624
11¾” x 9¾”. Commercial photo album with internal plastic comb binding. 10 mylar covered gummed leaves with 90 color photos adhered both sides, a few pages blank. Photos generally measure 3½” x 4½” and some are captioned directly on the photo in ballpoint. Album near fine with some browning to the leaves. Photos generally very good plus or better: many are trimmed, approximately 13 a bit underexposed, a fair amount with scotch tape remnants. An album of a blended family, bringing together two different kinds of primates: humans and two monkeys named Peanuts and Punkin. Every single image in the album features one or both of them. P & P are forced to share the attention of their humans with Tigey, a dog with whom they are often seen palling around. We see them dressed in diapers, wearing leopard print vests, and staring longingly at inflatable toys. One series shows them at a campsite playing on picnic tables and just hanging out with their family. There's one shot of Peanuts hugging the family cat, Fluffy. There's also a series taken at Christmas with images of them around wrapped and newly opened (by them? ) presents. This item is offered by Langdon Manor Books, LLC, antiquarian booksellers.
