Oblong 8vo 8" to 9" tall; Second impression stated. 8 3/4" x 11". String tied, lithographed thin cardboard wrappers. 13 leaves (the first and last of which are blank) with images printed rectos only. A wonderful and insightful look at Calcutta in the early 1900s, with several dozen drawings. Images include a series on crows, the Parawallah, the bullock and buffalo cars, the different castes (Ticca Gharri, Ticca, and Bund Gharry) , shops, trades and more. Reprinted at least twice (in 1914 and 1920) , all editions are scarce with no copies of any edition in internet commerce and OCLC showing just two copies of this edition and KVK showing no others, 1 copy in the National Library of India. Condition: Very good plus: wrappers bright with a touch of fading at extremities and a tiny inked owner signature in the upper right corner of the front wrapper; some separation of the wrappers along the top and bottom of the spine with a few millimeters of loss; rear wrapper with a corner crease. Leaves are bright, clean, unmarked with some faint toning at margins and one with a spot of foxing that does not affect the image; light corner wear to most leaves.
