A crisp image of the Woodson Hotel in Yates Center, Kansas, probably taken before the turn of the century. The photo shows a number of men, probably laborers and their bosses, during a break in the digging of a ditch and laying of pipe. A family in a horse-drawn carriage can be seen in the background, as well as a sign for Tom Keene cigars. The hotel was built in 1887 of Yates Center sandstone blocks and is now a luxury apartment building.
