Item #4516 Eight Cartoon Storyboards Mostly Featuring Anthropomorphic Roosters or Chickens.
Eight Cartoon Storyboards Mostly Featuring Anthropomorphic Roosters or Chickens.

Eight Cartoon Storyboards Mostly Featuring Anthropomorphic Roosters or Chickens.

Mexico: [1970s?]. Mexico: N.p., [1970s?]. 15” x 11½”. Watercolor and gouache on artist boards. Very good with light dust soiling, and light penciled numbers on upper right corners.

These eight storyboards were acquired from an antiques market in Mexico and have a comic chicken and farming theme. Images are well executed with vibrant colors and amusing scenes such as the two chickens in the wrestling ring, and a group of three chickens sitting in a living room having a friendly chat. Five of the images involve chickens, while the remaining three have human characters. Of those three, two have characters who look like farmers, while the last one has characters with guns and money.

We have been unable to determine whether or not they are from a known Mexican cartoon, but are nonetheless engaging examples of cartoon art.
